Bowers & Wilkins 702 S3 Floorstanding Speaker - pair - Mocha

Bowers & Wilkins 702 S3 Floorstanding Speaker - pair - Mocha

The flagship of the 700 series gets an upgrade

The advanced design of the Bowers & Wilkins 702 S3 can imbue small-group recordings with warmth, but it goes the extra mile to render big performances — symphonies, live concert recordings, etc. — with a level of accuracy and detail that almost rivals being there. The latest version improves on previous iterations with a redesigned tweeter "pod" and a new downward-firing port that improves bass response. And you can choose from three finishes: black, white, or the latest addition, mocha.

Proprietary drivers

This speaker looks different because it was designed to sound different. Bowers & Wilkins has spent decades creating and honing technology that gives their speakers a unique and beautiful "voice."

The 1" Decoupled Carbon Dome™ tweeter was purpose-built for the 700 Series to bring studio-quality sound to your home system. The top-mounted solid-body housing — borrowed from the 800 Series — is milled from a solid block of aluminum to form a structure that resists unwanted resonance. In the S3 iteration, the pod has a new, longer shape, designed to give high frequencies a more open sound.

The decoupled 6" Continuumâ„¢ cone FSTâ„¢ midrange also benefits from tech developed for the high-end 800 Series. The cone's composite construction delivers precise vocals and instruments and smoother transitions.

Flowportâ„¢ for better bass

The bass cones are aided by Bowers & Wilkins' Flowport technology. The 702's bass reflex enclosure features a new downward-firing port that provides natural bass response without the turbulent "chuffing" that standard ports can create.

A rich history of audio excellence

Founded in England in the 1960s, Bowers & Wilkins is known worldwide for their innovative hi-fi speaker designs and their premium headphones. Crutchfield is proud to offer a diverse selection of products from this legendary audio brand.

The speaker's three 6-1/2" Aerofoilâ„¢ Profile bass cones are computer-modeled to provide the stiffness and rigidity required for deep, musical bass.
